The Associate Engineer - Infrastructure & Cloud develops, supports and maintains cloud-based applications, systems, or associated infrastructures.

This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do while performing the following main duties:

Key Components
  • Designs hardware environments based on vendor and/or software requirements.
  • Sets up and maintains backup and recovery hardware/software.
  • Provides administrative technical support for server (Cisco UCS, HP ProLiant) and storage hardware (NetApp); repair or replace defective hardware on servers as necessary; expedite repairs with outside services.
  • Assists with Tier III troubleshooting (desktop, network, application layer, etc)
  • Maintains DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, print, and FTP/SFTP services for the enterprise.
  • Utilizes tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Powershell to automate server builds and configurations
  • Maintains server security features to protect confidential information while allowing appropriate access.
  • Monitors system logs and activity on all servers and storage.
  • Researches, installs, and tests software updates and patches to supported applications and various operating systems.
  • Works on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of varying complexity, including contributing to product strategy.
  • Plans projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented.
  • Additional duties and projects as required.

  • DNS, DHCP, FTP/SFTP
  • Server/Data center network environments
  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc)
Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience required. 1 - 2 years additional experience in infrastructure & cloud development and support, or equivalent experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The work environment for this position is a moderately noisy office setting with very limited exposure to a moderate to loud warehouse setting.
