The Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for all aspects of shrink reduction at the Maines Food and Party Warehouse.


  • Responsible for random audits of the shipping, delivery and returns to ensure we are receiving in the same amount of product that was ordered.

  • Responsible for reviewing the customer purchase orders to ensure the associates and customers receiving discounts are legit.

  • Conducts regular inventory audits of high dollar inventory such as lobster to be sure nothing is missing.

  • Cross trains with other Loss Prevention Associates to be able to fill in at any store.

  • Reductions of shrink inclusive of areas such as receiving of product, cash handling and employee or customer theft.

  • Apprehension and prevention of shop lifters.

  • Reviews the camera activity for any loss

  • Completes special projects and other duties assigned.

Knowledge of a broad range of security and access control systems. Strong analytical, investigative, and problem solving skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to develop strong relationships. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and risk prevention/security related software and systems).


Associate's degree with five (5) years related experience and/or training in loss prevention; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior law enforcement experience preferred or a combination of security and loss prevention background.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is required to travel and must have a valid drivers license.
