As a Sales & Development Rep, you will travel to customer accounts to perform selling and merchandising functions in-store, including, but not limited to, placing orders or assisting customer to in online ordering systems. You will also grow sales through increasing the sales to existing customer base or adding new accounts. And you will be expected to be customer service focused in all that you do, work in tandem and provide support to your Territory Manager and Manufacture Vendors to promote Programs available through Core-Mark.

Job Description

  • Calls on assigned independent/chain convenience store locations, develops and implements strategies for increasing sales, market share, and profitability.
  • Provide sales consultation and conducts ordering activities for existing accounts; services stores as scheduled daily.
  • Assists their Territory Manager in focus marketing initiatives, including implementation of marketing plans.
  • Advises store owners/managers of discontinued and inactive items, offer replacement suggestions, actively manage product tags, review and monitor promotions.
  • Provides excellent customer service and issue resolution to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Meets sales goals and participates in strategic company initiatives.
  • Supports and incorporates corporate and divisional marketing programs into account penetration sales strategies.
  • Reports competitive activity within existing accounts.
  • Participates in training programs and sales meetings.
  • Facilitates collection of account receivables when necessary, and furnishes updates to management as requested.
  • Ensures compliance with credit and return policies.
  • Assists with store merchandising and store resets.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in good working order and reports issues.
  • Participates in training programs and sales meetings.
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned.


  • 2-4 years sales experience preferred - in convenience or grocery experience a plus.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Requires a self-motivated individual with excellent sales and communication skills.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Good driving record required.
