Key Accountabilities:

1. Mainstream Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees efficient operations of warehouse, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, delivery, equipment maintenance, security, and safety
  • Develop and implement and monitor standard operating procedure for warehousing and transportation
  • Develop, implements, and monitors warehouse employee productivity/quality action plans in accordance with the standards developed by the operations group
  • Determine warehousing personnel and equipment requirements by evaluating warehouse activities, projected volumes, and product mixes in accordance with productivity standards
  • Ensures company, Occupational Health and Safety, and MOT standards for warehousing, distribution, and employee safety are met
  • Implements policies and procedures for warehouse security
  • Ensures effective marshaling and integrity of DC inventory. Implements procedures for handling customer returns, vendor returns, and obsolete inventory. Performs periodic physical inventory counts. Performs cycle counts and investigates redlines to keep perpetual inventory system accurate
  • With the operations group, identifies requirements and implements training programs for the DC warehouse and transportation employees
  • Responsible for selection and hiring of direct reports and associates for warehouse positions. Directs their activities, evaluates their performance, and approves their merit pay increases
  • Meets regularly with Vice President to discuss planned versus actual profitability, capital expenditures, employee productivity, and other relevant issues
  • Supports Risk Management in investigating and monitoring accidents to identify cause and take corrective actions. Works with Human Resources group to develop division training and incentive programs to improve safety
  • Ensure effective cooperation and communications with other departments
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

2. Health & Safety

  • Comply with H&S policies and procedures
  • Report hazards (unsafe conditions/acts) to Manager and/or Human Resources
  • Refer all safety matters to the Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner
  • All employees have a right to participate in H&S matters, this may include assisting in Safety Committee Meetings, Facility Self Inspections, Accident Investigations and Job Safety Analysis

3. WSIB Administration

  • Ensure all injuries are reported to the Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner
  • Comply with any requests for information with reference to WSIB issues
  • Comply with any offers of modified duties

Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.



REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts and formulate production schedules and budgets

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business reports, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
