The Hobby Lobby Distribution Center services 700 Hobby Lobby Stores across the nation. The campus, located in Oklahoma City, consists of the Warehousing, Manufacturing, Transportation and Corporate departments.

The transportation needs of the Distribution Center are provided by Hobby Lobby's private fleet, which is also based in Oklahoma City. The Warehouse operation, which spans over 9.5 million square feet, houses two types of distribution systems - Basic and Seasonal.

The Basic Warehouse System stretches over 7.0 million square feet and handles 70,000 skus, processing weekly replenishment orders for all Hobby Lobby Stores. The Seasonal System occupies about 2.5 million square feet and pushes seasonal merchandise to the entire range of Hobby Lobby Stores.

The Warehouse Operation has an hourly employee base of 3500 employees with 140 members of management, led by the Senior Vice President of Distribution.

FUNCTION Night Inventory Cycle Count Co-Manager

SCOPE

  • Reports to the Night Inventory Control Manager.
  • Accountable for, but not limited to, the following assignment:
    • Timely and accurate reporting of all inventory cycle counts in the Distribution Center.
DESCRIPTION
Assist the Night Inventory Control Manager in managing the cycle count process for the warehouse. This includes, but is not limited to:

General:
  • Implement and support the policies and practices that are consistent with the philosophy of the company.
  • Improve the operational excellence of the cycle count process through the training and motivation of the employees.
  • Evaluate processes/procedures with the goal of potential improvements through suggestions and recommendations.
  • Potential involvement in studies to improve operational efficiency of the entire Distribution System.
Specifics:
  • Primary role to assist in managing the complete cycle count process of the warehouse with a focus on maintaining a balance of Human Resources among all areas of responsibility, safety within the team, as well as productivity, accuracy, and overall organization of the cycle count process.
  • Oversee timeliness of reports, as well as employee timecards, performance reviews and corrective action records.
