Lands' End is a multi-channel retailer offering products through specialty catalogs, the Internet, and retail stores. The position is located in Dodgeville, Wisconsin at our corporate headquarters. Key responsibilities: - Develop, execute and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans and strategies that support the merchandising, and financial objectives within your scope and area of responsibilities. - Drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory and bottom line profitability resulting in gross margin return on investment (GMROI) and inventory turn goals. - Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities. - Collaborate with merchandising to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities. - Perform in-season forecasting. - Own open to buy, present financial forecast and supporting action plans in monthly open to buy (MOR) meeting. - Partner with cross functional team on markdown management. - Participate in company and brand initiatives as appropriate. - Communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to manager and cross-functional team on a weekly basis. - Support a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment with peers and cross-functional team resulting in shared best practices. - Provide manager with timely feedback on personal development and training needs. - Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge. - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional team. - Manage key deliverables within cross functional team and peer group. - Initiate and maintain regular communication with Sears business partners. Experience in the following desired: - Create pre-season style plans that support divisional strategies. - Develop monthly forecasts of sales and inventory for all basic styles and develop strategies to meet department financial goals. - Drive key item ladder plans and Item planning. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. - Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills - Possesses a clear understanding of financial measurements which could include: sales, gross margin, gross margin return on investment, weeks on hand, weeks of supply, etc. and how to positively impact these metrics - Able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams - Demonstrates strong listening and communication skills; able to present business strategies and action plans - Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities. - Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines - High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access and strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly - 1-2 years experience as a Planner or equivalent. - 3-5 years of retail buying, planning or related analytical experience.
