Job Description: Store Manager Assures assigned stores meet sales, expenses, gross and net profit objectives while monitoring implementation of corporate merchandising programs and operational standards within area of responsibility. Assists with communication between store support and store staff. Clearly communicates the concepts, goals and objectives to the stores and all levels with the company. Monitors and follows up on operating performance of each assigned store with specific regard to sales and profit performance of all existing and new products and programs. Maintains current knowledge of market conditions through periodic reviews of competition. Reviews (for the assigned floral department) store level sales volume, budgets, expenses and profit plans and assists with adjustments as necessary. Understands and comprehends all financial reports needed to manage the business. Develops improvement plans and programs with the Store Director and District Director to achieve objectives. Reviews programs prepared by merchandising supervisors, recommends adjustments to meet local conditions and works with Store Directors on action plans to implement. Works with all levels of management for program and strategy design through implementation including areas such as loss prevention, human resources, finance etc. Assist/develop special ad events, corporate wide and store specific with knowledge of ad profitability and effect on department sales and gross. Develops strong department managers within district through mentoring/coaching and partnering with store management team. REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 4+ years of product knowledge to include product origin, handling and presentation options, in a retail environment, with increasing levels of responsibility. Working knowledge of perishables. Excellent written and communication skills demonstrated in previous positions. High level |
