The Enterprise Decision Analytics (EDA) team works with all parts of the organization including Operating (e.g. Home Appliances, Kmart Apparel), Support (e.g. Marketing) and the Holding Company (e.g. CEO, CFO) to drive business impact. As a vital member of EDA team, the Business Analyst is responsible for working with fellow team members in developing and implementing business-impacting initiatives for Sears Holdings Corporation. Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to (a) gather and analyze data and generate insights from that data, (b) use those insights as the basis for developing new corporate initiatives, and (c) contribute to enterprise-wide change initiatives. RESPONSIBILITES - Collaborates with other members of the EDA team to develop insights based on data o Coordinates with Leaders in EDA to identify and prioritize areas for analysis o Gathers data and develops thoughtful, robust business analyses o Analyzes issues, develops insights and formulates data based hypothesis - Develops partnerships across the business and functional areas of the organization - Prepares recommendations, financial business cases and presentations for senior management - Fosters teamwork and works well in a collaborative team environment - Leads small groups of individuals in support of specific initiatives - Performs ad hoc analysis as requested QUALIFICATIONS - Masters degree - High energy, enthusiasm and excellent judgment - Strong sense of urgency and bias for action - Superior analytical, problem solving, and technical finance skills - Proven ability to improve processes - Proven ability to work well in cross-functional team environment - Strong leadership - Self-confident and assertive even in ambiguous situations - Innovative - Highly skilled in problem solving especially in situations of high ambiguity - Ability to apply analytical rigor to understand complex business scenarios - Some familiarity with standard customer insights techniques such as: qualitative and quantitative market research, marketing analytics, statistical and economic modeling, customer segmentation, and customer profitability analysis - Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills A comprehensive and competitive benefit program is designed to meet the needs of our associates and their families.
