Job Title: PT Deli/Bakery Associate - bloom Job Description: This description is intended to outline the primary responsibilities, general nature, and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and competencies of the Deli/Bakery/HMS Associate. The incumbent may be assigned other duties and responsibilities. JOB OBJECTIVE To provide quality customer service to customers in the Deli/Bakery/HMS Department. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of proper Deli/Bakery conditions. Responsible for maintaining standards according to the Deli Standard Practice Manual. Maximize sales through excellent customer service. REPORTING FUNCTION Reports directly to the Deli/Bakery/HMS Manager. In their absence, reports to the Assistant Manager Fresh or Manager on Duty. Occasionally receives direction from the Assistant Deli/Bakery/HMS Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Deli/Bakery/HMS Associate must know how to perform all duties and fulfill all responsibilities listed below. This list is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed to meet business demands. Meets Bloom customer service standards. Uses suggestive selling. Uses public address system. Operates and sharpens meat slicer. Operates wrap stand. Operates scales. Understands tare weight. Answers the telephone. Understands hot foods portion control. Makes sandwiches, subs, tossed salads, coffee and tea, dispenses drinks, and fries chicken. Sets shaved meat trays (where applicable). Records merchandise transfers on log. Records store use transfers. Understands and follows reduction policies. Understands and follows dishwashing and sanitation procedures. Understands and follows Deli/Bakery/HMS cleaning schedule and sanitation procedures. Packages chicken for service case. Changes pans and freshens hot case. Breaks down hot case. Reads dates on salads and meats. Takes out trash. Bales cardboard (if over 18). Understands food temperature requirements and storage. Meets Bloom personal hygiene standards. Understands and follows glove and tissue use in service area. Understands and follows sampling program. Flips salads and changes crocks. Understands "ready by" time. Sells only quality products. Operates the cash register. Uses price book. Periodically cleans glass throughout the day. Periodically cleans and sanitizes slicer throughout the day. Breaks down slicer. Understands "clean as you go" work system. Cleans and "mineral oils" stainless steel. Understands the use of supply items. Takes special orders. Follows plan-o-grams. Completes all special assignments. Understands and follows HACCP Program. Understands and performs insect control procedures as outlined by Bloom policy. Finds more efficient ways to do the job and seeks to reduce costs and improve labor productivity. Observes and corrects all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Technical skills in all areas of preparation and handling of Deli/Bakery/HMS product in compliance with Bloom standards. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to break down and reassemble equipment as needed for sanitation purposes. Ability to use production guides, ovens, proof boxes, bakery scale/printer, chicken fryer, rotisserie, stove and hot cases. Ability to meet production standards established by Bloom. |
