This position is responsible for ensuring that great customer service is provided on a daily basis by working with both the selling and service teams in Auto Centers with less than $500,000 in sales volume and 2 or 3 bays. The Auto Center Manager works closely with the Sears Store Manager, the Kmart Store Manager or the Sears Store's Auto Center Manager to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and to supervise the business. The Auto Center Manager is responsible for the supervision of an Auto Center with less than $500,000 in sales volume and 2 or 3 operating bays. The Auto Center Manager will report to the Sears Store's Auto Center Manager if the Auto Center is operating in a Kmart store or the Sears Store's Store Manager if the Auto Center is not operating in a Kmart store. The Auto Center Manager is expected to spend 50% of his/her time selling and installing Auto Center products and services.

Selling, Service and Follow-through: - Achieves personal sales and service goals and helps team in achieving the same. - Focuses on providing consistent, timely and accurate care to customers and focuses selling, service and support teams on same. - Delivers speed and expertise to the customer through day-to-day execution of business processes and programs. - Reacts quickly to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve time standards. - Is responsible for the image, cleanliness and in-stock presentation of the selling floor, stockrooms and backshop and contributing to cleanliness and presentation of same. - Demonstrates a high level of energetic response to every customer, on the phone or in person. - Communicates accurately with service technicians to ensure timely delivery of the specified service. - Keeps customers up-to-date on their car's progress. - Leads by example to set a customer-focused environment for selling and service teams. - Works closely with the Sears Automotive District organization to achieve sales and profit goals on a daily basis. - Communicates "Quick Check" findings to customer within minutes of completion by the technician. - Completes and ensures that technicians complete QSC forms based on Sears Automotive Inspection and Repair Guidelines and MAP Standards. - Trains Associates on proper exit procedure: explaining warranties, product information and scheduled services. - Encourages and acknowledges excellent customer service. Greet/Respond: - Projects quality image through Associate and store appearance. - Supervises Drive In experience for the customer. - Uses the Customer Service Request form to ask questions and verify customers' needs. - Answers phones within 3 rings and coaches Associates to do the same. Associate Development: - Communicates openly and willingly. - Teaches, coaches and provides positive and constructive feedback. - Holds Associates accountable for providing exceptional customer service. - Creates a climate that values diversity and integrity. - Takes ownership for recruiting dependable customer-focused Associates. - Uses Sears Automotive Training Curriculum to orient newly-hired associates and to continue their knowledge growth. - Coaches Associates proactively when opportunities occur. - Recognizes, encourages and acknowledges excellent customer service. - Demonstrates intolerance for substandard performance. - Conducts training of associates, including but not limited to on Point of Sale system and proper selling and service processes. - Works well and promotes a team environment. - Miscellaneous duties as assigned. The Auto Center Manager position requires: - Automotive sales or service experience helpful but not necessary. - Good communication skills. - Good supervisory and time management skills. - Valid Drivers License. Education/Training - High School degree/Technical School degree preferred. - Automotive sales or service education and training helpful but not necessary. Experience - One to two years in a similar work experience. - Sales or service background helpful in this role. - Past supervisory experience preferred.
