Job Title: FT DSD Receiver - Bloom

Job Description:
This description is intended to outline the primary responsibilities, general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and competencies of the DSD Receiver. The incumbent may be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed.

A person with maturity and willingness to confront vendors with errors, policy violations or excessive inventory is needed for this position. A person with a good work record and a desire for promotion. The DSD Receiver will protect the assets of bloom while improving sales and maximizing the company s cash flow. This person will be committed to assisting in achieving the store s shrink budget.

Ensure the proper receiving of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) product by following the policies and procedures set forth by bloom. Responsible for maintaining policies, procedures and grocery standard practices. Maximize sales through excellent customer service. Minimize shrink through proper utilization of standard practices.

Reports to the Assistant Manager or the Manager on Duty. Responsible for proper and accurate DSD product receiving for the store. Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming product to verify information against the vendor invoice. Responsible for the following duties:

Being a trained and certified DSD Receiver. All DSD Receiving CBTs must be completed. Demonstrates and executes proper vendor receiving policies established by bloom. Follows company policy and standard practice for vendor receiving. Dedicated to proper vendor receiving and identified tasks for a minimum of four hours per day, Sunday Saturday, 7am until 11am. Controls shrink and eliminates poor deliveries by ensuring vendors are in compliance with bloom's vendor receiving policies.
Maintains proper pricing standards based on DSD invoices.
Uses item movement to monitor inventory levels. Responsible for controlling backroom vendor product inventory levels. Works with the Assistant Store Manager to insure timely promotions by all vendors. Responsible to ensure category merchandising notes are implemented weekly by noon on Wednesday. Participate in the weekly store business meeting. Responsible for the accuracy of beer and wine receiving and accurate beer and wine checks and invoices.
Verification of accurate DSD plan-o-grams. Complies with scheduling and policy standards. Examines incoming product, declines damaged items, and records shortages. Accounts for all DSDs daily and weekly. Ensures that DSD tickets are filed properly. Responsible for checking EDI invoices on computer to ensure there are none outstanding. Maintains a vendor error log. Maintains cleanliness in vendor sections by ensuring vendors are completing all cleaning and product rotation on a daily/weekly basis. Provides courteous service to vendors and customers. Ensures only authorized products are brought into the store. Responsible for handling all reclaim and damages on a daily basis.

The DSD Receiver is responsible for the following backdoor receiving functions: Maintains proper key and alarm control. Maintains a clean and safe environment throughout the grocery backroom. Observes and corrects any unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents. Finds more efficient ways to do the job and seeks to reduce costs.

Maintains a neat and clean appearance according to the bloom dress code. Responsible for cigarette ordering, stocking, rotation, and inventory. Responsible for ordering and rotation of the Front End merchandisers candy racks.
Responsible for checking dates in the grocery and frozen food/dairy departments using the Cleaning and Date Check Calendar.

Competencies Required: The DSD Receiver must possess the following competencies: A person with maturity and willingness to confront vendors with errors, policy violations or excessive inventory is needed for this position. A person with a good work record and a desire for promotion. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 60 lbs. as needed. Ability to read, write and perform basic math. Ability to complete necessary paperwork. Ability to analyze situations, identify problems, implement solutions and handle conflict. Ability to communicate with vendors, associates and customers. Ability to use the In-Store Computer, scan system and RF Telxon. Ability to meet production standards established by bloom. Have the ability to perform multiple tasks.
